Using a construction temporary agency takes the time-consuming work of reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates off the company’s plate. Most agencies have a pool of pre-qualified workers ready to go, making it easier to find the right candidate for a specific role. Whether it’s a project engineer, foreman, scheduler or skilled labor worker, staffing firms have an established pipeline of qualified professionals to make the process quicker and less cumbersome.
Constructing Connections: The Role of Temp Agencies in Building Teams
Construction projects are often unpredictable, and staffing needs can vary depending on the phase of a project. Temporary staffing enables construction companies to scale up or down their workforce to match labor demands, helping them complete projects on schedule and within budget.
In the case of temp-to-hire, an agency may charge a flat upfront retainer to recruit and vet potential candidates before they are offered the job. Once a temp-to-hire employee is hired, the agency typically charges the employer a percentage of the person’s hourly wage, up to 50 percent. This is usually split evenly between the staffing agency and the client company. The staffing agency receives the worker’s salary and payroll taxes and is responsible for resolving any issues or disputes with the worker.
